WHO ARE we?
The Genesis: Where Art Meets Justice
Code Green emerged from a profound recognition: those who've experienced injustice possess unparalleled clarity about what justice requires.
Founded in 2021 by Inna Modja and Marco Conti Sikic, Code Green was born at the intersection of personal transformation and global urgency. As climate disasters devastate already-marginalized communities, we recognized that traditional approaches weren't reaching those who needed support most—or learning from those who understood solutions best.
We began with a radical premise: What if proximity to problems meant expertise in solutions? What if art wasn't just expression but transformation? What if those traditionally excluded became the leaders?
Today, Code Green proves that investing in marginalized women's leadership doesn't just change individual trajectories—it transforms entire systems.

Our Approach: Revolution Through Integration
We Operate Differently
Traditional NGOs impose solutions. We amplify existing wisdom. Conventional programs separate services. We integrate healing, education, and advocacy. Others document problems. We fund community-led solutions. Most organizations gatekeep access. We share platforms and power.
The Three-Pillar Ecosystem
Our integrated approach creates multiplicative impact:
A young woman's artistic expression becomes her healing tool
Her healing builds confidence for advocacy
Her advocacy influences policies protecting others
The cycle of transformation expands
Innovation in action
From blockchain-powered fundraising that directed millions to grassroots organizations, to transforming airports into advocacy galleries reaching 30 million travelers—we constantly reimagine how resources, recognition, and power flow to those traditionally excluded.
Building Movements, Not Programs
Code Green isn't just another nonprofit. We're architecting a fundamental shift in who leads and how change happens. When marginalized women design solutions, when art becomes activism, when those who've experienced injustice lead the justice movements—that's when systems truly transform.
